The holy shrine of Hazrat Al-Abbas (a.s) in Karbala organized its own annual central celebration of the birth anniversary of Imam Mohammad al-Baqir (peace be upon him). The ceremony, which was held in the courtyard of the Qibla gate of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), witnessed the presence of the director of the Office of the Senior Official of the holy shrine; Sayed Afdhal al-Shami, a number of its officials, official figures, in addition to a large number of visitors.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech by the general secretariat of the Al-Abbas’s (p) Shrine delivered by the head of the Religious Affairs Department, Sheikh Salah al-Khafaji. The speech began by congratulating the attendees and the Islamic nation on the birth anniversaries of the infallible imams (peace be upon them) in the month of Rajab. In his speech, Al-Khafaji touched upon aspects of the biographies of Imams Mohammad al-Baqir and Ali al-Hadi (peace be upon them) and their status with Allah the Almighty.
“The ceremony concluded with honoring the winners of the electronic cultural competition prepared by the general secretariat of the Al-Abbas’s (p) Shrine, which resulted in the victory of ten contestants,” he added.
