South-Western Muslims Mark the Birthday Anniversary of Imam Mahdi in Nigeria

A cross-section of Muslims- including Sunni and Shia gathered in the ancient city of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria to celebrate the birthday anniversary of the twelfth Imam, Imam al-Mahdi (May Allah hasten his reappearance).

The event was organized by the Consultative Council for Ahl al-Bayt (a.s), Ilorin with the theme “Towards Awareness of Our Responsibilities” at Al-Kareem Event Centre (opposite Air Force Junction), Oloje, Ilorin on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

A welcoming address was made by the Chairman of, the Program Planning & Organizing Committee, Alhaji Mas’ud Aremu. Thereafter, lecture presentations were made by a Sunni scholar, Dr. Hamid Muhammad Annafawy under the title “The Awaiting Saviour: Why & Who?” and a Shia scholar, Sheikh, Al-Muqaddam Ibn Maryam Abdullah Berende with the title: Man & Guidance: A Divine Necessity.
